Events of the Heart is set to make motorcycle history by auctioning off two high-end California Chopper Motorcycles signed by movie and television’s biggest celebrities.
Actors including Kevin Bacon, Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Simon Cowell, Eva Longoria Parker, Rob Lowe, Brenda Strong, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, Kate Walsh, Tim Daly, Taye Diggs and Amy Brenneman have lent their signatures.
Many other actors from television’s American Idol, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Private Practice, and Dancing with the Stars have offered their names in what is possibly the most expensive graffiti ever.
The bikes, to be auctioned, will help raise awareness for women and heart disease. Designed by Orange County Choppers, the bikes are collector’s items in their own right. Both have distinctive flame designs with one painted black and white and the other blue and silver.
The bikes were designed to be cutting-edge, high-tech, vibrant and sleek with smooth curves and edges and a strong, powerful engine. Several features, including the smooth curves and edges, the fully exposed rear wheel and the curved gas tank, which are unique to this bike, were crafted to accentuate and enhance the design.
These are the first OCC bikes with a fully exposed rear wheel. The bikes’ frames flow seamlessly from the front wheel to the rear fender. The bikes also feature a curved gas tank – an innovative design unique to this bike.
The motorcycles were originally commissioned by and designed for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation to help educate and generate interest around the mechanism of action utilized in the latest type of high blood pressure medication from Novartis. Novartis donated the motorcycles to non-profit organization Events of the Heart, to be used as a vehicle to fundraise for the organization and raise awareness about heart disease and high blood pressure in women.
