Events of the Heart is proud to announce that we will be performing at the California Women's Conference "Night at the Village". With performances by Brenda Strong of Desperate Housewives, Shelly Goldstein, Cabaret Performer, Sharon Lawrence of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Grey's Anatomy, and Eric Close and Marianne Jean-Baptiste of Without A Trace. Directed by Christine LaMonte and pieces by Abigail Pogrebin, Shelly Goldstein and Lee Woodruff.

Our booth will feature onsite testing to kick off the "Million Women's Heart Project", messaging to and testing 1 million women by 2012. Our purpose is simple:

-To examine in a dramatic and measurable way, the reasons why heart disease has remained, for over two decades, the #1 killer of all women.
-To work together to get 1 million women’s hearts checked.
-To message to one million women and collect the stories about what’s at the heart of their lives

Our goal is to convey the reality to women of how stress, high blood pressure, obesity, broken-heart syndrome as well as other risk factors are the prime factors of their heart disease. The Women’s Conference is the largest and most dynamic gathering of women in the nation. It is recognized for its unparalleled capacity to empower and inspire women to become architects of change. The annual conference unites more than sixty internationally acclaimed leaders and visionaries with 14,000 women in one arena, plus thousands more virtually, to share enriching stories of transformation and success, words of encouragement and life lessons. What an opportunity to reach out to women in this venue with this message!

The Women’s Conference has added the “Night at The Village” in an effort to dedicate more time to women learning about non-profits. The “Village” will transform the Long Beach Convention Center’s exhibit hall into over 160,000 square feet of interactive experiences, connecting women with information, shopping, food and fun.  On October 26th, 2009 the festivities for “Night at the Village” will begin with a collection that allows non-profits to highlight their merchandise, their missions, and their literature. This evening will offer Events of the Heart a unique opportunity to perform selected pieces from Heartthrobs on the Main Stage, for the 10,000 plus attendees at “Night at the Village.”
